Lake Sunapee

Lake Sunapee is ten miles long and is the highest lake of its size in America, 1100 ft. above sea level.

Lake Sunapee and Mount Sunapee derive the name from the Algonquian Indian words "suna," meaning "goose", and "apee," meaning "lake." Native Americans called the area "Lake of the Wild Goose" because it is shaped like a goose, with a beak protruding into Sunapee Harbor.
Sunapee Harbor
Sunapee Harbor has been a mainstay for vacationers since the 1800s when the sweltering heat of the cities sent vacationers fleeing north by train to enjoy the cool waters of Lake Sunapee.

Sunapee Harbor is the heart of the town with a country store, ice cream shops, restaurants with a water view, free live music, kayak & boat rentals, tour and dinner boat cruises.
The SRK Greenway
The SRK Greenway is a 75-mile loop of hiking trails in central New Hampshire. The Greenway Trail System circles the Lake Sunapee area and connects Sunapee, Ragged, and Kearsarge Mountains
